Flora (Plants)
Some plants that live and flourish in our biome are the balsam fir, black spruce, eastern red cedar, siberian spruce, white fir, and the jack pine.
-Balsam Fir
The balsam fir plays a significant part in our biome because it has the greatest fire resistant of all the the evergreens in North America, therefor if you have a large number of balsam firs in one given area then the forest is more likely to last longer than if there were any other kind of tree. The balsam fir is a major food supplier for moose and other organisms in the winter. The moose benefit from this transaction because without this major food supply, the moose population would be most likely to decrease. The balsam fir is also greatly used in creating medicines.
-Black Spruce
The black spruce plays a significant part in the boreal forest (taiga) biome because it can survive in completely dry soil and extreme cold weather because it has layered twigs, and having many of black spruces in a forest will help the forest last longer even in hash conditions.
-Eastern Red Cedar
In eastern red cedars, there is an oil that keeps away moths and is used in medicines, as well as perfumes. The bark, berries, leaves, seeds, and twigs are also used in medicine. The wood on an eastern red cedar is very durable which helps it survive i harsh conditions. This is how an eastern red cedar plays a significant part in the boreal forest (taiga) biome.
-Jack Pine
The jack pine adapts to living in a boreal forest/taiga biome by growing on flat or hilly areas that have sandy soil which this particular biom has a lot of.
-White Fir
This tree is very important to our biome because it is used for multiple reasons. One reason is to be a shelter to the grouse and other orgnisms. Another reason a white fir is important is because it makes a great rousting place for organisms to feedoff of the buds and needles. Also, Native Americans and many people to day use this tree for medicine.

Fauna (Animals)
Some animals that live and flourish in our biome are the bald eagle, otter, black bear, deer, wolf, and moose.
-Bald Eagle
The bald eagle is significant in our biome because it usually eats the deceased organisims which helps keep our biome healthier.
-Red Fox
After an animal leaves it's burrow, the red fox will choose that one which is a sigificnt part in a boreal forest/taiga biome because it's almost like recycling.
-Black Bear
Although, black bears may seem vicious and frightening their diet mostly consists of plants. Actually, only 10% is consisting of carcusses.
